THE PURPOSE OF OHAV SHALOM:

The word for Ohav is "love," and the word for Shalom is "peace." Our heart's desire at Ohav Shalom is to proclaim His Love, so we as His chidren can experience His Peace.

OHAV SHALOM EXISTS TO:

Provide Messianic Jewish discipleship; Promote anointed, Messianic Jewish worship; Proclaim the Gospel of Yeshua (Jesus) here and abroad; Perform ministry and good deeds as Yeshua desires us to; and, Preserve our Jewish identity and heritage. We have worship services on the Jewish Sabbath, observe the Jewish lifecycle events like B'ris and Bar Mitzvah, and celebrate the Jewish holidays throughout the year, but all centered on YESHUA the Messiah. Jews and Gentiles alike are welcome in our services, and there is no charge to attend. Our congregation provides an excellent opportunity for Jewish people to continue in their Jewishness, but have it centered on Yeshua the Messiah. We also provide an opportunity for Gentile believers who have a love for Jewish people, and want to help us in our purposes, to join us and learn more about Messianic Judaism.

Our congregation does not have membership dues, nor do we charge for High Holiday Services. The expenses for our congregation are paid for out of free-will offerings (a box on the back table) that the members and attendees give to the congregation out of love for the Lord.

Steve & Judy Babkow

Congregational Leader Steve Babkow

Congregational Leader Steve Babkow came to faith in the Messiah at the age of 30. Steve grew up in a conservative Jewish home, and finally realized, that the most Jewish thing he could ever do is believe in the Jewish Messiah according to the Jewish scriptures. This is very Jewish, in light of all this Steve served on staff with Jews for Jesus, also graduated from Calvary Chapel Bible College.

Steve and his precious wife and helpmate Judy, started Ohav Shalom in the living room of their home in July of 1993. Today Ohav Shalom is proclaiming that Messiah was foretold in the scriptures, came and died for our sins, resurrected and is coming back soon! If you have any questions for Steve or Judy, please e-mail us at steve@ohavshalom.net

DANCE

MESSIANIC DANCE is a scriptural form of worship. 2 Samuel 6:14 tells how King David led the ark of the covenant into Jerusalem while he danced before the Lord. Jeremiah 31:13 shows us that God's redemption causes his people to dance before him. Historians have also found that dance was a part of worship during the Second Temple period, in the time of Yeshua. Dance has always been a Jewish form of celebration.
A time to dance . . . Ecclesiastes 3:4.
Praise Him with tambourine and dancing . . . Psalm 150:4.
Come . . . join us!
